Library Newsletter – Term 4 Week 6 – NAIDOC Week, FHC Reads, Remembrance Day

This week is a busy one.

We continue to celebrate the joys of reading with more FHC Reads activities, on Wednesday November 11th we commemorate Remembrance Day 2020, and from November 8th –  15th we also celebrate Indigenous Australian culture with NAIDOC Week.

We hope students, staff and the whole school community is enjoying the activies running for FHC Reads.  So far we have had the viewing of the interview with our school Principal, Mr David Rogers, about reading, as well as our students filling in a survey about their favourite books.  A big thank you to all students who filled in the survey during Home Group.  If you didn’t get a chance to do the survey yet, follow this link to do so now.

Don’t forget the competitions we are running..

In this week’s newsletter, we have an interview with our Learning Area Leader for English, Dr William Kent, where he answers some questions about what he likes to read.

Follow the Library on Instagram (@fhclibrary) to see more photos of FHC Staff being caught reading.

This week you can also find links that let you explore the traditional of Remembrance Day, and resources to help us recognise Indigenous Culture during NAIDOC Week , including apps and podcasts.
