Heartstopper is a boy meets boy story about Charlie and Nick.
Charlie is the openly gay boy in Year 10, while Nick is the rugby star who is a year older.
They are strangers who are put together when their school decides to implement “vertical form groups” and go on to form an unlikely friendship.
Charlie is on the track team, but Nick convinces him to join the rugby team too. As they spend more time together, their friendship starts to change. But Nick is straight – or so he thought. And Charlie has a past “hook up” who is pressuring him for more.
