Library Newsletter : Safer Internet Day – Tuesday February 9th 2021

DID YOU KNOW? 1 IN 5 YOUNG PEOPLE REPORTED BEING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, THREATENED, OR ABUSED ONLINE.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people and inspire a national conversation.

Starting as an initiative of the EU SafeBorders project in 2004 and taken up by the Insafe network as one of its earliest actions in 2005, Safer Internet Day has grown beyond its traditional geographic zone and is now celebrated in approximately 170 countries worldwide.

To mark Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 9 February 2021 eSafety Australia will be  releasing new research, Digital Lives of Aussie Teens.

The latest issue of the Library Newsletter is dedicated to Safer Internet Day and providing resources for our school community to start the chat about how we can all be safer online.
