Samantha McAllister looks just like the rest of the popular girls in her class. But she has a big secret, one she can never let her friends know. Samantha has Purely-Obsessional OCD which leaves her daily life consumed by dark thoughts and worries that she can’t turn off. For Samantha, second guessing every move, thought and word makes daily life a struggle and having to appear perfect so she fits in with her friends does nothing to help her with her struggles.
Then Sam meets Caroline. Caroline introduces her into the secret world of Poet’s Corner, a hidden room in her school, where a tight-knit group of misfits gather to support each other and perform their poetry. Here, Sam meets guitar playing AJ, who Sam doesn’t remember, but who certainly remembers her. Sam and her “perfect” friends bullied AJ so much when they were younger that he had to change schools. As Sam struggles to gain the trust of AJ and the others, she slowly begins to feel “normal”.
But then a startling discovery has her questioning her sanity more than ever…
