My Life As A Hashtag by Gabrielle Williams

“A novel for anyone who’s ever wished thy haven’t pressed send.”

That quote from the book cover pretty much sums up this great book.  MC is being shunned by her friend as they both like the same boy, resulting in her not being invited to the biggest party of the year.  Her hurt rant on social media, on an account that had not been active for years, becomes viral and is a timely reminder of the dangers of venting on the internet.  Once you press send, it is out there and out of your control, even if you then delete the posts and account.  The consequences of MC’s actions are dramatic and highlight the potential down side of social media.
